Prophet Dr.Peter Akowa is the Presiding Prophet, Founder and General Overseer of Gate of Heaven Healing Ministries Incorporated, Which he started in August 2004 in a small store at Wilmer from where he later moved to canal side and now has his headquarter at 29b Okoya Street, Moshalashi B/Stop Ajegunle. A man mandated by God to go into the world and proclaim Jesus, delivering the sick as well as liberating the people by the word. The vision came through a revelation he received in a dream at the age of 12 years at about 2,00am from a tall man who was wearing white garment with a big holy bible in his hand. The man gave the bible to him and said “go into the world and proclaim Jesus, healing the sick and delivering the captives” Prophet Peter Akowa is a highly anointed man of God, whose powerful inspirational ministration have been transforming lives, catapulting them beyond the shores of kingdom of darkness. A visible and glaring characteristics of this man is his unbelievable humility and passion with an unquenching love for the needy.
Gate of Heaven Healing Ministries as a name for the church is an outcome of prayers done in a camp geared towards ascertaining from God what the name of the church should be. To God be the glory, by his divine direction, the name was sourced from the book of Genesis chapter28v17.
The church was registered at Abuja by Corporate Affairs Commission in March 2006. After we, the members resolved firmly and solemnly to see ourselves as instrument of God in raising an end time church of power , authority, unity and holiness symbolic of the recovered purity of dynamic new testament Christianity, working with the spirit of God for achievement of God’s purpose of creation and his original intentions for the church, spreading for a wide outreach of people with the gospel, glorifying God and serving him faithfully in preparation for the Lord Jesus Christ, Who continue to form the spring board of our relationship with the almighty God.
Our mission statement is as capsulated in our call; to know God intimately and to make him known. To provide opportunities for unity, love, peace and faith, in order to form a more perfect union, spreading the gospel, winning converts to Christ , ensuring domestic tranquility and promoting the general and securing the blessing of our Lord Jesus Christ to ourselves and posterity. We recognize therefore the special call of man of God and the need for anointed leadership, which will facilitate the accomplished of our vision under a man chosen and raised by God, the person of Prophet Peter Akowa, for a divine purpose.
